January 5, 2017. A special meeting of presbytery is called to meet at Christ OPC in Janesville, Wisconsin. Here is the content of the email sent by our moderator on December 21, 2017:
Dear Fathers and Brothers,
I have received a request to call a special meeting of the Presbytery in accordance with Form of Government XIV.7, “to be held at the earliest opportunity and at a time and location conducive to the largest possible attendance by Presbyters to examine the situation at Mission OPC, St. Paul and offer counsel.”
I have also received a request for a special meeting, “to appoint a ruling elder to augment the session of Grace Reformed OPC (Des Moines) with the consent of the congregation in accordance with FG XIII.10.”
The full requests, the necessary grounds, and descriptions of the emergency nature of this business are included in the attached files (St. Paul, Des Moines). In response to these requests, I issue the following call for a special meeting:
In accordance with Form of Government XIV.7 and the Presbytery of the Midwest’s Standing Rules Article I.B.1, the moderator hereby calls for a special meeting of presbytery to address the following business and matters germane:
1. To examine the situation at Mission OPC, St. Paul and offer counsel.
2. To appoint a ruling elder to augment the session of Grace Reformed OPC (Des Moines) with the consent of the congregation in accordance with FG XIII.10.
This meeting shall be held at Christ Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Janesville, Wisconsin on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 7pm.
