Mr. Moderator,
We, Rev. Andrew Fortenberry, Rev. Robert Tarullo, Rev. Iain Wright and elders Kevin Baldwin (Hanover Park, IL), Mark deRu (Hanover Park, IL) and Robert MaKenzie (Countryside, IL) request a special meeting of Presbytery on Friday, April 22, 7:30 PM at Grace OPC of Hanover Park, IL (1510 Greenbrook Blvd, Hanover Park, IL 60133), to consider Rev. Fortenberry’s contemplated labors as Pastor of Family Ministries at Lake Tanglewood Community Church in Amarillo, TX, his request to work out of bounds as a ministerial member of the PMW, and, contingently, to declare the pulpit of Grace OPC vacant, and to appoint a ministerial advisor for Grace OPC.
Grounds/Background: Rev. Andrew Fortenberry was called by Lake Tanglewood Community Church of Amarillo, TX to be Pastor of Family Ministries on March 20, 2022. It is Rev. Fortenberry’s desire to accept this call and to work out of bounds as a ministerial member of the PMW, according to FOG XXVIII. This meeting would be contingent upon Grace OPC of Hanover Park accepting Rev. Fortenberry’s resignation at its April 10 congregational meeting. The session of Grace Church is actively asking a few local ministers about their interest and availability to serve as ministerial advisor.
Respectfully,
Rev. Andrew Fortenberry
